With grid systems like 960 Grid spreading across the web like a zombie outbreak, let me be the first to say… Hang on one sec. Web Designers are notorious for grasping new technology, and embracing change; this comes as both a blessing, and beast of burden. I’m not saying I disagree with these CSS Grid Libraries. I’m saying we should be using them as tools, not pushing them onto the new breed of designers. The power in these grid libraries is the potential for quick turn-around, and the emergence of a new, pre-defined layout standard… (that’s a completely different topic for a completely different time, as the basis of art/design is breaking rules to forge new style). Long story short: In my opinion if you’re not a CSS Ninja, please refrain from embracing such technologies, use the grid layouts at most, for defining your structure, but really… I mean really focus on using CSS to its fullest potential.
